World Accreditation Day

  • June 9, marks World Accreditation Day (WAD) as a global initiative jointly established by the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) to raise awareness of the importance of accreditation-related activities. The inaugural WAD was celebrated in 2008.
  • The theme for 2020 World Accreditation Day is “Accreditation: Adding Value to Supply Chains” and highlights the role of accreditation in adding value to supply chains. Supply chains provide a vital role in delivering products and services for consumers, business and the public sector in a timely, cost-efficient and quality manner. Supply chains are constantly evolving from complex systems crossing multiple borders to new and diverse supply chains aimed at ensuring all stakeholders’ requirements are met, including the need for ensuring sustainability and responsible supply.

The IABH Symbol

The IABH symbol is used by accredited Hospitals, Blood Bank, Blood Storage Centre, Maternity Centers ,IVF Center, Dental Facilities/ Dental clinic, Eye Care Organization, OTS Centre, AYUSH Hospitals, Allopathic Hospital, Nursing Home, PHC, CHC, SHCO, Wellness Centers, PUMS, homophobic Hospital, Clinic Trial, and Panchkarma Centre Etc , to indicate to prospective of their services that they meet the requirements of a national accreditation body. The symbol is also used by organisations to further emphasise that their products, processes or services awarded an endorsed certificate have been provided by INTERNATIONAL ACCREDITATION BOARD FOR HOSPITALS AND HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS by a peak Global accreditation body.

The ACBET symbol is used by accredited Schools, Institute, Collages, University, Skill Training Centres, to indicate to prospective purchasers of their services that they meet the requirements of a national accreditation body. The ACBCB- INSPECTION Symbol

The Inspection Bodies seeking accreditation for Inspection in specific technical areas shall comply with the requirements as specified in the international standard ISO/IEC 17020:2012 “Conformity assessment – Requirements for the operation of various types of bodies performing inspection” and other requirements as specified in this document. The standard ISO/IEC 17020:2012 can be obtained online from ISO website ‘www.iso.org’.

The ACBCB Product Certification Bodies

The Certification Bodies seeking accreditation for Product Certification shall comply with the requirements specified in ISO/IEC 17065:2012 “Requirement for bodies certifying product, processes and services.” The Product certification body shall have procedures to determine the mandays required for assessment/evaluation of premises of the applicant/certified organization, if applicable in the Scheme.
